Mol & Sørum Reclaim Beach Pro Tour Throne in Doha Finals
The Beachvolley Vikings are back on top! Anders Mol & Christian Sørum reclaimed their title as Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour Finals champions, defeating David Åhman & Jonatan Hellvig in the 2024 Doha Finals. The Norwegian duo avenged their loss in the 2023 final against the Swedes, securing their second Beach Pro Tour Finals gold after winning in 2022.
Grand Final: Norway vs. Sweden Rivalry Continues
Mol & Sørum, seeded third, delivered a 2-0 (21-18, 22-20) victory over the top-ranked Swedes, taking control in the first set and rallying in a tight second set.
- Sørum led with 16 points, including two blocks
- Mol contributed 11 points, two blocks, and two aces
- Hellvig topped the match with 17 points and five kill blocks
“It feels amazing to be on top of the podium at the last tournament of the season!” Mol said. “We worked hard, battled through the Olympics, and now, winning this title gives us so much motivation for the off-season.”
Sørum added: “They beat us in the pool, they are Olympic champions, and they had an amazing season. To end the season with a win against them feels unreal!”
Åhman & Hellvig Settle for Silver

Despite their strong season and FIVB No. 1 ranking, the Swedish duo couldn’t overcome the Norwegians in the final. Still, they added another silver medal to their collection, marking their second Beach Pro Tour Finals podium and 16th overall Tour medal.
Cherif & Ahmed Clinch First Finals Medal for Qatar
Home favorites Cherif Younousse & Ahmed Tijan made history by winning their first-ever Beach Pro Tour Finals medal. The top-seeded Qataris battled past Stefan Boermans & Yorick de Groot in an intense bronze medal match, winning 2-1 (18-21, 21-15, 17-15).
- Cherif was a defensive wall, producing seven blocks and three aces for 22 points
- Ahmed added 19 points
- De Groot led all scorers with 24 points
